Introducing our latest addition to ChildWatch® - portable meal capture!  Simply connect to a compatible hand-held mobile device and you have a handy, portable means of capturing child meals and attendance at the time of the meal (point-of-service).

Additional time is saved as marking paper rosters for later entry into ChildWatch® becomes unnecessary.  After meal capture is complete, Meal Service Record (MSR) reports may be printed for hard-copy retention.

If you are a CACFP sponsoring organization of centers (or are a self-sponsored center) you are familiar with the efforts needed to encourage your providers (or staff) to enter the meals they've marked on paper throughout the week.  It is common for staff to fall behind, holding up the claim for everyone.  This feature eliminates all excuses and makes meal capture quick & simple for users.

Feature Highlights

  • Meal-Time Restriction
      • Now you can guarantee that claimed meals were captured at the time of the meal.  Fraudulent claiming is virtually eliminated as meals may only be captured within a specified period of the served meal.
      • A "leeway" setting allows for entry during a grace period after the meal ends.  Auditors can rest assured the meals were captured during the approved times.
  • Go Paperless!
      • Using a mobile device to for meal/attendance capture eliminates the need for paper. You can still print Meal Service Record reports as necessary, but blank roster forms printed before the meals are no longer necessary.
  • Reduce Errors & Save Time
      • By eliminating the need to manually record meals & attendance using pen & paper followed by punching those data into the computer, this feature greatly reduces the possibility of error and speeds the meal capture process as a whole.
  • Simple User Interface
      • Using the touch capabilities of the mobile device, a single touch of a child's name marks him to receive the meal. A second touch indicates "attendance only". ChildWatch® automatically handles children who are not eligible to receive a particular meal.
      • Background colors and intuitive icons change to provide easy visual feedback.   Capturing data for an entire classroom takes only a minute!
  • Real-Time Data Capture
      • As each classroom's data is captured, those data are immediately available to your staff (& your sponsor) for reporting / filing purposes.  No need to wait until the end of each week to learn if the provider is keeping up with data entry.
  • Mobile Device Compatibility
      • ChildWatch® works with the following mobile device types:

        • Android® Phones
      • The device basically needs to have Internet access (via phone network or wireless LAN) and should have a screen size of 2.5 inches or greater. A minimum resolution capability for portrait mode is 320 pixels across.
